The scorebook training modules will get you started on your scoring journey. The Fundamentals course will teach you about the scorebook and all the basics you need, while each module will build your scoring knowledge by adding new scoring symbols.
As you progress through the modules, you will achieve levels of NSW accreditation. Once you feel you have mastered these modules and are ready for more, the next step is to progress through the levels of National accreditation. Click here to learn more about accreditation.
Some age groups/associations have competition rules that differ from the standard rules of baseball. While we have endeavoured to cover the most common differences, we may not have catered for them all. You may have to adapt what you have learnt to fit your situation. Please check with your club/association for your competition rules and how to complete your result sheet.
Some clubs or competitions require the games to be scored using an electronic scoring package. The current recommended package is GameChanger.

Scorebook & Gamechanger
We strongly advise completing at least Fundamentals, Module 1 and Module 2 in Scorebook training before using GameChanger. This will help you gain an understanding of the most common plays and the terminology used. It will also improve the accuracy and quality of the information and statistics generated by GameChanger.
We also recommend one (preferably two) scorers score in a book so you can recover from any technical problems or help the GameChanger scorer catch up with the game if needed.
Training & Courses
The training modules are currently PDF documents. We are working on an online training system which should be more user-friendly and automatically keep track of where you are up to.
For now, as you complete each module, please let us know by sending a message with your email address and the module you have completed. That way we can update the online training system so you won’t have to start from the beginning again, as the information will be the same.
